Estimating multiple greenspace exposure types and their associations with neighbourhood premature mortality: A socioecological study

چکیده
Greenspace exposures are often measured using single exposure metrics, which can lead to conflicting results. Existing methodologies limited in their ability estimate greenspace comprehensively. We demonstrate new methods for estimating and combined representing multiple types that combine impacts at various scales. also investigate the association between those premature mortality. used geospatial data spatial analytics model map availability, accessibility eye-level visibility metrics. These were harmonised standardised create a novel composite index (CGEI). Using these we investigated associations years of potential life lost (YPLL) 1673 neighbourhoods applying autoregressive models. variations conjunction with levels socioeconomic deprivation based on deprivations. The association between neighbourhood greenspace and type 2 diabetes in a large cross-sectional study
OBJECTIVE To investigate the relationship between neighbourhood greenspace and type 2 diabetes. DESIGN Cross-sectional. SETTING 3 diabetes screening studies conducted in Leicestershire, UK in 2004-2011. The percentage of greenspace in the participant's home neighbourhood (3 km radius around home postcode) was obtained from a Land Cover Map. Demographic and biomedical variables were measured...
متن کاملDoes walking explain associations between access to greenspace and lower mortality?
Despite emerging evidence that access to greenspace is associated with longer life expectancy, little is understood about what causal mechanisms may explain this relationship. Based on social-ecological theories of health, greenspace has multifaceted potential to influence mortality but the potential alternative mediating pathways have not been empirically tested. This study evaluates relations...

15 صفحه اولEstimating the burden of smoking: premature mortality, morbidity, and costs.
Estimation of the burden of disease attributable to smoking has now become standard in documenting the impact of the tobacco epidemic and in motivating tobacco control. This paper addresses the methods used to estimate the attributable burden of mortality and the related estimation of morbidity and economic costs. Estimates of attributable mortality and morbidity for the Americas range widely, ...
